In which a dog escpaes from the kitchen

Thursday, September 19, 2013

Bandit the dog kept disappearing from the kitchen in mysterious circumstances, so its owner set up a camera to see what was happening and caught this:

Youtuber Andrew Holzberger, the uploader of the video, offers some context:
The dog's name is Bandit and has severe separation anxiety, to the point where he destroys carpets, chews wires, and cuts himself trying to get out of his crate. The kitchen was the most "baby proofed" area in the house, so I began blocking him in there so he wouldn't hurt himself, as a trainer suggested. After seeing what Bandit goes through trying to get out everyday, including almost killing himself, my friend gave him full access to the house and IS NOT a shitty or abusive owner.

Chart: How long it takes it takes to fall in love via social media

Monday, September 16, 2013

A study conducted by European online retailer PIXmania shows how long it takes to find a partner by using different types of social media, by the amount of interactions between the users.

From DailyMail:
The study, which was conducted by electronics retailer PIXmania, found that within the space of a single generation, the amount of time taken for love to blossom has more than halved.

Couples aged 55 and over said on average their courting process took more than two and a half months (78 days) whereas for those under the age of 25 it takes just under one month (24 days) for them to refer to each other as boyfriend and girlfriend.

As a result, researchers believe that this could signals the end of the traditional 'three day rule' where would-be lovers wait for 72 hours before calling a date back.

Instead, it's now closer to three hours, with two thirds saying they were happy to contact their new beau within four hours of their first date.

Wednesday, September 11, 2013

In his project Danielle, video artist Anthony Cerniello tries to slowly capture the aging process of a person.

(Watch the whole video, don't skip around or you will miss the whole fun.)

From Collosal:
Last Thanksgiving, Cerniello traveled to his friend Danielle’s family reunion and with still photographer Keith Sirchio shot portraits of her youngest cousins through to her oldest relatives with a Hasselblad medium format camera. Then began the process of scanning each photo with a drum scanner at the U.N. in New York, at which point he carefully edited the photos to select the family members that had the most similar bone structure. Next he brought on animators Nathan Meier and Edmund Earle who worked in After Effects and 3D Studio Max to morph and animate the still photos to make them lifelike as possible. Finally, Nuke (a kind of 3D visual effects software) artist George Cuddy was brought on to smooth out some small details like the eyes and hair.

2Pac Halloween costume

Thug Life 2 Pac Rapper Mask, from Rubie's Costume Co.
Though Tupac is gone, the California Love still flows. (And he still keeps making records, somehow.) When you're showing your pride in Thug Life, grab this Tupac Mask and bring the wildly famous hip hop legend back to life! Stun everyone with this realistic look and dropping rhymes on the karaoke machine at your Halloween party! (If Biggie's around though, just let it all slide, okay?) You can't go wrong with this Thug Life Tupac Mask!
