John Green of Mental Floss is here to give us a lesson in the history of films that never got made, such as an 1960's version of The Lord of the Rings, with John Lennon starring as Gollum, Paul McCartney as Frodo, Ringo Starr as Sam and George Harrison as Gandalf, a film that was supposed to be directed by Stanley Kubrick.
