Amazon's 30-minute drone delivery

Monday, December 2, 2013

In their ongoing effort to improve customer experience, Amazon introduces Prime Air, their in-development drone delivery system, that will allow products to reach buyers in 30 minutes from clicking the "buy" button.

The giant online retailer's CEO and founder Jeff Bezos made an appearance on 60 Minutes on Sunday, and spoke about the project their R&D department has been working on in secret for a few years now, saying it will be able to deliver items up to five pounds in weight (86 percent of the items that Amazon delivers), and will probably be available to customers within 4 to 5 years.
