The Mimic Octopus is a creature of the devilish nature: it has the ability to change colors and shape, assuming the appearance of another animal.

Padded lampposts for the safety of texting pedestrians

Friday, October 29, 2010

There is something wrong with the British.
Britain's first 'Safe Text' street has been created complete with padded lampposts to protect millions of mobile phone users from getting hurt in street accidents while walking and texting.

Around one in ten careless Brits has suffered a "walk 'n text" street injury in the past year through collisions with lampposts, bins and other pedestrians.

The 6.6million accidents have caused injuries ranging from mild knocks and embarrassing cuts and bruises through to broken noses, cheekbones and even a fractured skull.

Foreign couple owned by locals at marriage renewal ceremony in the Maldives

Friday, October 29, 2010

A helpless unidentified Western couple were mocked by locals when they decided they wanted to get their marriage vows renewed at the Vilu Reef resort in the Maldives. After the video of their 'ceremony' got some attention on Youtube, police took matters in their hands and are now investigating it.
The amateur film of the ceremony, posted on the video sharing website Youtube a few days ago, shows the couple sitting in a makeshift shelter on the beach, surrounded by local people.

The bride is wearing a white dress and carrying a bouquet, while incense, official looking documents and wedding rings lie on the table in front of them.

"Your marriage is not a valid one. You are not the kind of people who can have a valid marriage. One of you is an infidel. The other, too, is an infidel - and we have reason to believe - an atheist, who does not even believe in an infidel religion," the Minivan newspaper quotes him as saying.

"You fornicate and make a lot of children. You drink and you eat pork. Most of the children that you have are marked with spots and blemishes. These children that you have are bastards."

The camera focuses on the paperwork in front of him, which local media say was not a marriage document but employment contracts - he then begins to read from these.

The celebrant also makes references to bestiality, sexual diseases and "frequent fornication by homosexuals".

All the cops in town have quit after drug-related attack

Thursday, October 28, 2010

Only in Mexico:
The entire police force of a small northern Mexican town quit after gunmen attacked their recently inaugurated headquarters, according to local reports on Wednesday.

Los Ramones Mayor Santos Salinas said nobody was injured in Monday night's attack, during which gunmen fired more than 1,000 bullets at the building's facade, according to Noroeste newspaper's website. Six grenades, of which three detonated, were also flung at the building, the newspaper reported.

All 14 members of the force reportedly resigned Tuesday. Nobody answered the phones at Salinas' offices, according to The Associated Press.

The new police headquarters had been inaugurated three days earlier.

Man charged for tattooing a 40 cm dong on some dude's back

Tuesday, October 26, 2010

"The victim wasn't interested (in a tattoo) at first but he was talked into it and he said he wanted a Yin and Yang symbol with some dragons," Det Malcolm told the Queensland Times on Tuesday.

"The bloke started doing the tattoo and there was another bloke standing there watching saying, `Mate, it's looking really good.'

"He was told not to go out into the sun and not to show anyone for a few weeks.

"When he got home he showed it to the person he lives with and she said: `I don't think it's the tattoo you were after'."
