Rembrandt-themed flash mob

Wednesday, April 3, 2013

After a 10-year renovation, the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, is ready to re-open its doors for the public, on April 13th. And to celebrate the occasion, its main sponsor, ING Bank, has staged this event in a local mall, surprising the unsuspecting shoppers with a spectacular flash mob featuring a real-life re-enactment of the museum's most important item of display, Rembrandt's 1642 iconic masterpiece The Night Watch.

Here's the original painting, for comparison.
