The first hamburger in space

Thursday, November 8, 2012

Sponsored by B.Good, a local hamburger company in Massachusetts, five friends from Harvard University sent a one of their delicious products to space.

"Operation Skyfall," as they called it, took place in Sturbridge, MA. The hamburger was attached to a 600g helium-filled weather balloon, with GoPro Hero camera and a HTC Rezound phone for GPS, and reached 30,000m (90,000+ feet), before it fell back to Earth, landing 130 miles away from the launch site.
