I call BS. This looks like a short cliff that the lions regularly ascend/descend. You can see the erosion and claw marks where they normally ascend it. The little guy just isn't quite big enough to make it up on his own. The pics are still cool, though.

I'm glad the lion's brother wasn't waiting at the top to murder it and take the throne for himself. That'd kinda be a good twist though.
