Words we invented by getting them wrong

In their latest video, linguist Arika Okrent and illustrator Sean O'Neill (previously), share the origins of some words that have been adopted in the English language in incorrect versions, after being misheard repeatedly by the people using them, such as "cherry", "apron", or "nickname".
Some times a mishearing leads to the birth of a word. Here are some words we invented by getting them wrong.
