From the archives: Neil deGrasse Tyson's letter to Carl Sagan, in 1976

Monday, February 3, 2014

Back in 1976, 17-year-old high school graduate Neil deGrasse Tyson writes Carl Sagan, explaining the reasons he chose to attend Harvard to Cornell University, where the established astrophysicist taught and where he went out of his way to make the budding astrophysicist feel especially at home.

The letter comes from The Seth MacFarlane Collection of the Carl Sagan and Ann Druyan Archive, which was recently acquired by the Library of Congress, which began cataloging the collection and posting digitized versions of its contents to its website.
