I have two cats, both rescues, both munchkins (short legs, like weiner dogs). They were pretty antisocial when we first got them, but they've warmed up considerably. Everytime we leave on a trip, they sit on the luggage, not wanting us to leave. Then, upon return, it takes an hour or so to shake their fugue, but then they both shadow us everywhere in the house, making sure we don't leave them again. They aren't like dogs with instant love and affection, but they truly want to be around us and miss us when we're gone.
