Rainbow light beam

Artist Yvette Mattern set up seven parallel high power lasers to create this beautiful rainbow-like light projection through the night sky over North Tyneside, to celebrate the 2012 Cultural Olympiad.

I actually saw a multicolored beam just like that, emanating from deep inside the Atchafalaya Swamp in the Southern U.S., but it was at least ten times bigger. This was in 1994, while I was traveling west on US I-10. It only lasted for a few seconds, then blinked out. Later, I reported it to MUFON, and the investigator told me that it was the only report of its type they had on file.
