'Lifecycle' - 365 days in the life of a bike in NYC

Friday, January 20, 2012

Last year, Red Peak Branding conducted an experiment in NYC: on Jan. 1st they tied a fully equipped bicycle (w/ bells, basket, lights and more) to a post on a busy street in Soho, and took a picture of it every day til Dec. 31st, watching it slowly disappear before their eyes. They combined all the pictures in this time-lapse video:

It took 200 days before it was accepted as an abandoned bike, and therefore ripe for salvage. I'd say NYC is pretty civilized.
