TIL that Steve Buscemi used to be a volunteer firefighter

Between 1980 and 1984, Steve Buscemi worked as a volunteer firefighter for New York City Fire Department's Engine 55. After 9/11, he returned returned to his comrades at Engine 55, helping them out with the WTC rubble.

Just a note - Mr. Buscemi was a full-time (career) FF for FDNY for the period listed. FDNY allows ride-alongs but has no "volunteer" program.
