Nothing ot of the ordinary, this kind of stuff happens all the time...


I couldn't find a story behind this picture, except for some comments on Flickr:
Unfortunately the caption in brackets [ ] means that there's no information written on the photo or the jacket. The 66 is the photo number is 1966, so this is probably a Vietnam war photo, although I guess it could be a training accident.

The picture should probably be rotated 90 degrees clockwise, as this man's intubated and is by no means standing. It's probably a little easier to read this way though.

I remember this picture from when I was going to X-Ray school 20+ years ago. The caption in that book stated that this soldier was walking behind a soldier who set off a mine. The grenade was blown off the webgear of the soldier who set off the mine and it struck this unfortunate guy.
