The world's longest beard

Friday, November 14, 2008

Sarwan Singh, from Surrey, England, is the proud owner of the largest beard in the world, measuring 2.33 m (7 ft 7.75 in).
As a devoted Sikh, Singh does not cut or trim his hair, not just his beard, as uncut hair is one of the five objects or symbols of faith of the Sikhs who have taken the vows of the Khalsa, as outlined by the tenth Guru of the Sikhs, Guru Gobind Singh. "Whatever God gives us, it is just our job to take care of that. Don't cut it or don't do anything to it," Singh's daughter Gursimran Kaur told CBC News. - Link
Other newspapers reported Sarwan Singh's beard was measured at 1.895 metres, but the Akal Academy maintains the 2.33-metre measurement was correct.

I don't cut my hair either. My wife prefers it that way. She likes having something to grab me by in public. And to wipe with after using my mouth when we can't find a toilet.
