With foil you can add many things that you can't with paint AND maintain the resale value, since a black BMW sells better than your pimped out gangsta-style neon-green bmw ;)
Price is not exactly a bargain, but you can have many problems when applying a new paint. Friend of mine had his car corrected 3 times after painting. Foil is always the same color on the whole car. And you can always rip it off, if you get bored wit the color
Actually it's far more durable and protective than paint, and there is no 'overspray', so it is much more efficient and environmentally friendly. Auto Manufacturers are already using the process.
This is nothing new, my mate does wrapping in the UK and did his own car about 7 years ago... all the gumball and dakar cars are wrapped and have been for years.
white cars are not safer. here in wisconsin and any where else they have snow, white cars blend in. i almost hit a few white cars every winter because you cant see them
So, uh...this is interesting, but it's a little silly, really. Why not just get a white car at the beginning? You know? I'm sure BMW had some on the lot...

how long does it take you? how much does it cost? white cars rule. safer, cooler.
roughly the same as repainting it.
