its not a stunt, it was a defensive move on the horses part, horses sometime rear, buck, ext when they want to get the rider off their back. this horse reared and landed on its back in hopes of getting its rider off of his back (some horses "over-rear" and slip over backwards but you can see this horse did not slip).
tells you alittle bit of what the race horses out there think of their treatment...
