Crucifixion/Torture Art

A woman crucified on the wall of a Synagogue in Pulheim Germany, as an art statement, by artist Maurizio Cattelan.

The theme that should have inspired and informed the artwork was religion and the desperate fight against the power of death. This work actually makes one think about torture or maybe it just seems to evoke something utterly grotesque.
