Justizzentrum Leoben - Minimum Security Prison in Austria
Wednesday, May 28, 2008

After we've seen the minimum-security prison/resort in Norway, here's another one, this time in Austria, a country with an apparently very low crime-rate.

Opened in 2004, the Justizzentrum Leoben (Justice Center Leoben) was built in addition to the district court, and it houses 205 inmates, or better said guests, at it's full capacity, probably all of them VIP's and wealthy gangsters.
Made mainly of glass, it includes a gym, a sports center, private rooms for guests and many more.
The visible inscriptions on the prison's perimeter say "All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights" and "Each of the persons deprived of their liberty must be treated humanely and with respect for the inherent dignity of the human being."
This is the kind of prison that makes you say "name the law that I have to break to get in there and I'll do it!"
