Monday, May 19, 2008

A flattened taxi lies under one of the boulders that crushed it on the earthquake damaged streets of Beichuan in Sichuan Province on May 16, 2008. Beichuan is one of the areas hit hardest by the quake, which has caused deaths across at least four provinces and regions. At least 1,000 Beichuan students and teachers were killed or buried in the collapse of the town's secondary school and up to 5,000 people in the area may have also been killed by the 7.8-magnitude quake - Getty Images
