Deer on a pole

Tuesday, January 15, 2008

This actually happened. In 2003, near Winnipeg, Canada, a deer was found on top of a pole. Read more
2003. The rural vicinity of Winnipeg, Canada. A customer calls the electricity company asking them to send someone to remove a deer from a pole.

Of course, the electricity company worker considers it a joke, but only until the next day, when the customer shows up with these pictures:

Since there was a train track some yards away, the witnesses just assumed the deer was hit by a one and tossed into the air, thus landing on the pole. Parts of the animal's rear legs were missing, the rest of the body was intact.

According to the Canadian railway company, there were no reports of a hit deer from any of their engineers in that area. Another problem is that the tracks are 45 feet away from the pole and the pole is 22 feet tall.

Some said the deer was deliberately placed atop the pole by pranksters, others say it was a result of a UFO incident.

I can't believe this series of photos of a deer is categorized under "humor" or "funny."

Suffering and death are not funny.

I feel sorry for the deer.
