Hate to say it - but the diagram's wrong!
Wales and England are separate countries... and people from Wales are never very happy to be called English...but don't mind being called British...

ye thats odd that England and Wales are in the same circle.
Wales is a Principality of England, and was conquered by England as opposed to Scotland, which entered into a union with England.
England and Wales are often mentioned in the same sentence, when referring to organisations or legal jurisdictions. So I guess you could say that's why Scotland gets its own circle, but not Wales.
One more little thing- people often assume that the name Great Britain is the British being arrogant, but its just a geographical reference to the size of Britain once England and Scotland formed a union.
