Grumpy Cat movie in the making

Thursday, June 12, 2014

Everyone favorite ill-humored feline Grumpy Cat is going to be the star of a film titled Grumpy Cat's Worst Christmas Ever, made by cable network Lifetime. From Hollywood Reporter:
Tim Hill (SpongeBob SquarePants) and Jeff Morris will pen the script, about a pet-store cat that is perpetually overlooked and the 12-year-old girl who can communicate with her. "It brings fun and irreverence that we haven't had at Lifetime," says vp original movies Arturo Interian, noting that his teenage daughters are fans of Grumpy and gave him the initial idea for the project. "We're so known for our heartfelt sentimentality that it will poke fun at those stereotypes."

Lifetime is casting the voice of Grumpy for the live-action project, which will shoot this summer. The cable network said the movie, which Interian describes as "a little Home Alone and a little Die Hard," would also feature cameos from other famous Internet memes.

Circle of No

In his series called Grumpy Disney, digital painter Eric Proctor aka TsaoShin imagines what some of the most famous Disney films would be like if they starred Grumpy Cat.
This series features well known Disney films with the Internet's most famous grouchy feline in place of one of the characters. The concept is simple: the appearance of the cat must derail the plot of the film.

The Grumpy Cat art project

Tuesday, May 7, 2013

The Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment center in Huntsville, Alabama, is holding an exhibition dedicated to the most famous feline of the moment, Tardar Sauce aka Grumpy Cat.
How do you show to the world the incredible diversity of talent that inhabits Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment? We asked ourselves that question two months ago and realized that the best solution was to challenge our artists to take on one specific subject using their own unique mediums and distinct styles. And what better subject could there be than the Internet's most famous feline?

Over thirty of Lowe Mill’s 100+ studios contributed to the project, with works ranging from painting to sculpture, to rug-hooking, to stained glass and chainmail.

The works will be on display here on LoweMill.net for you to enjoy anytime, but you will also have the chance to BID on your favorite works in our ONLINE AUCTION.

The online auction at LoweMill.net will begin May 27th and end at 9pm on May 31st. All proceeds will go to our participating artists and towards building a children’s playground right here at Lowe Mill!
