Social experiment: Attractive woman walks around in New York City and records people's reactions on hidden camera

Wednesday, October 29, 2014

In this video created by Washington Times columnist and creative director Rob Bliss for Hollaback!, a non-profit that seeks to end street harassment through education, Shoshana B. Roberts, an attractive woman wearing black crewneck T-shirt and jeans, walks around for 10 hours on the streets of Manhattan, accompanied by a hidden camera that records what is being said to her by the people she passes by.

# of harassments: 2 (yelling "stop following me" and "NO" could've MAYBE fixed that)
# of times she was complimented/"hollered at": 9 (give or take 1)
# of casual convo's: 11
2/22 = 9% of the video was harrassment
9/22 = 41% of the video she was hollered at/complimented
11/22 = 50% of the video was casual conversation

So out of a 100 comments in 10 hours, 91 of those comments were just compliments and casual convos.

I hope they aren't counting those "Have a nice day" comments as harassment....

You can see that from many angles, but being told "have a nice day" or whatever by random people you're not even looking at can be harassment, if it's all the time. I don't see how giving money to any organization would help though.
