Tic-tac-toe-ception

Friday, June 28, 2013

Yo Dawg, we herd you like Tic-tac-toe so we put a Tic-tac-toe inside your Tic-tac-toe so you can play Tic-tac-toe while you play Tic-tac-toe, etc.

Math geek Ben Orlin of Math With Bad Drawings blog has created the "Ultimate Tic-Tac-Toe" game, in which each square is made up of another, smaller Tic-Tac-Toe board, and to win the square you have to win its mini-game.

Here's an important rule:
You don’t get to pick which of the nine boards to play on. That’s determined by your opponent’s previous move. Whichever square he picks, that’s the board you must play in next. (And whichever square you pick will determine which board he plays on next.)
