FedEx reacts to scandalous video

Senior Vice President of FedEx's US Operations Matthew Thornton III responds to the video that went viral yesterday, showing a company employee tossing a package containing a computer monitor over the customer's fence:

The wording of the message is on point. I'm glad the driver isn't losing his job, and is being retrained, perhaps to be more respectful of other human beings and their property. And more importantly, Fedex is taking responsibility for the potentially damaged delivery.

That said, Mr. Thornton's recital comes across as though he's communicating points during a corporate conference.
It's insincere. Actions speak louder than words, but this issue was only being addressed because a video went viral, and that's what Mr. Thornton is communicating.

I'm sure he'd be upset if his own deliveries were damaged, and it would have been better if he expressed that in his demeanor. Instead, he's just doing his job and placating the public in a pretty poor manner.
