Then and now: Tennis Girl

Fiona Walker

The woman who appeared in one of the most popular posters of all time has revealed her identity 35 years later.
Mrs Walker is now a 52-year-old freelance illustrator and mother of three.

But in 1976, aged 18, her then photographer-boyfriend Martin Elliot persuaded her to let him take a shot of her on court hitching up her dress to reveal a bare bottom.

The setting was a university tennis court in Edgbaston, Birmingham, the area where the modern game of tennis was pioneered in 1859.

Mr Elliot sold the image to the poster chain Athena and more than two million copies were sold worldwide.

I wonder what it would take to get her to pose again? Probably wouldn't sell 2 million copies, but I'd buy one of each if it was packaged with the original.

I'm 56 and I can recall admiring that fanny ... nice to see it again -- and to finally meet its owner.

If her BF convinced her to pose for this shot, I wonder what other pix might be laying around in a box somewhere?
