Meet the Belgian Blue cows. Their race has been genetically enhanced to produce more beef. More pictures
These are the Belgian Blue, the cows that look like they have been bodybuilding all their lives. This race has been genetically enhanced, by reducing the myostatin gene, which is a negative regulator of muscle mass. The cows get bigger, gaining muscle mass and producing more beef.

Apologies for being exact, but these pictures are not of Cows....

A Cow is of the female sex in cattle and is a term give to a female that has already produced a calf.

The cattle in these pictures are most definitely Male... and there fore are either Bulls or Bullocks (Castrated).

cheers

Matt

I knew they were bulls, and not cows

I generically named them cows because I was referring to the race, the Belgian Blue, which is more like a cow's race, not a bull's race :)

First off its from breeding. Generations of bovines chosen based on muscular size that created this animal. Humans could theoretically do the same if they choose mates like we do in breeding and guess what not one would need steroids.

Belgian Blue Cows are a rare breed of cows. Some members of its breed genetically suffer from lack of myostatin inhibitors. Myostatin is a protein produced in the body that controls/inhibits muscle growth. This disease/abnormality is very rare to find in other animals, but does exist. It is most commonly found in Belgian Blue Cows though. Folks, these are not steroid fed cows nor are they products of human insanity. This abnormality was only discovered recently due to our current advancements in gene technology, so only little research has been done.
