South Korean Parliament ass kicking

Wednesday, December 19, 2007

This happened on December 14, 2007 in The South Korean Parliament (National Assembly).

The Parliament is a representative deliberative assembly with the power to ratify laws.

These people are grown men. They dress in suits to go to work. They represent the people. They make the laws. Look at them go.

The situation in the National Assembly escalated after the pro-government party prepared to push through an impeachment motion against prosecutors who had investigated alleged financial wrongdoings of the leading opposition presidential front-runner, according to South Korea's Yonhap news agency.

Critics of the prosecutors allege that they concealed the involvement of GNP candidate, Lee Myung-bak, in a 2001 stock manipulation and embezzlement case, said Yonhap.
